It is affiliated to the World Union of Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) and to the Union of Latin American and Caribbean Jewish Congregations.
The Benei Israel Congregation, founded in 1989, is the reformist Jewish institution in the country, with an Ashkenazi majority, founded by North Americans from the United States and Canada.
It has more than thirty years of existence, it offers trilingual equal services in Hebrew-English-Spanish.
It also has the "Jennifer Sossin" Jewish School, which prepares children up to their Bar or Bat Mitzvah age. They also have their own Cemetery.
Its objectives are to promote culture, tradition and Jewish religion through study and application of Jewish values in everyday life, to strengthen ties with the State of Israel and to foster the continuity of the Jewish people.
