Description
In the place of the former El Almendral Jewish neighborhood you can still find some houses displaying Jewish symbols both inside and outside.
The street where a synagogue and the Hebrew school used to be was torn down in order to build the National Congress, but both organizations survived and were relocated to Viña del Mar.
The Jewish Museum of Valparaiso was authorized by the Regional Council of National Monuments to install a plaque in the Congress gardens as memorial that there used to be a Jewish community based in that location.
